My Role
The project displays my skills in producing visual design that appeals to multiple clients, the birthday boy, boy’s parents, and guests.
To deliver the party information with clarity, get RSVP by the deadline, and illustrate the fun party that the boy’s parents had planned, I was hired to design the invitation.
Since an invitation card had limited space, it was obvious that bare-minimum content that clearly stated essential information was the key to solving the design problem. Date, venue, time, and RSVP information was laid out precisely and first. Including a picture of the boy and the party theme was also crucial to quickly communicate what the party entailed.
After showing the card to the boy and his parents, we agreed that the card needed a few more elements to create some fun and interest. The boy suggested clouds and the parents asked to add his name in character.
The invitation concisely communicated the important information and helped getting the RSVP quickly and on time. The clients were happy that they were able to focus on a planning for the date rather than worrying about getting the head count by the deadline. The boy was also very pleased with the card.
